Jiri is one of founding directors of RJK Architects with over 25 years of overseas and Australian experience in the field of architecture, city planning and urban design. His career in some of Australia’s leading architectural firms progressed to establish a private practise in 2013. With RJK Architects he pursues his life long interest in design excellence and commitment to innovative architectural solutions. As a company director Jiri provides strategic business direction as well as maintaining hands on approach to design of key projects.

After several years practising architecture in Vienna, Europe Jiri moved to Australia in 1992. He was employed by Cox Richardson Architects and Conybeare Morrison and Partners working on large urban design, infrastructure and architectural commissions. Notable projects include Wa- tergardens regional shopping centre, Sydenham in Western Melbourne, Eastern Distributor and Parramatta-Chatswood Rail link competition.

Architectural assignments during this period featured educational projects – TAFE College in Ourimbah, NTU Library in Darwin, University of Science and Technology in Shanghai – winner of international design competition and some large -scale civic buildings; the Main Arena for the Royal Easter Show at Homebush and the Sydney Olympic Stadium competition entry. Smaller commissions include the Eastern Distributor Control Centre and the award winning interior de- sign for Verandah Bar & Bistro in Sydney’s central business district. adobe oem software

Jiri maintains a keen interest in all forms and scales of residential architecture; while with Cony- beare Morrison and Partners his projects included the Peninsula Apartments at Manly, an award winning mixed-use development which feature in the Residential Flat Design Code as a bench- mark design, the Avon Road, Pymble development as well as number of private residences. It has been the appeal of residential architecture which led Jiri to join Zhinar Architects in 2004, a practice with extensive portfolio in this field. As a team leader and a principal design architect he has been responsible for a multitude of residential projects, ranging in scale from individual dwellings for private clients to multi-unit residential estates, including 59 apartment mixed-use development at Pennant Hills Road, Parramatta, a winner of invited design excellence competi- tion. Specific area of Jiri’s expertise is his experience with residential projects for governmental agencies such as Defence Housing Australia and Housing NSW.

The focus on multi-residential architecture continues with RJK Architects with recent projects of various size throughout Sydney area and NSW. Jiri can grasp the true potential of a development site and maintains close relationship with projects in his care throughout the entire design and documentation cycle.
